After a traumatic event, many people feel they are unable to move on with their lives. They experience anxiety, avoidance, sleep problems, and flashbacks to the traumatic event. In essence, their whole perspective of the world shifts dramatically and they feel they are unable to get out of this ongoing living nightmare.
The approach I co-authored with Dr. Eric Gentry, "The Trauma Practice Approach", is a time-tested, CBT-based approach, focused on helping you get better. There are 3 main steps: Harness Calm; Work Through Trauma Memories; and re-engage in life.
