Grant Nowak
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) CRPO Registration #21529
Grant Nowak is a Master’s Candidate in Clinical Psychology at Adler Graduate Professional School and is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). He holds an Honours Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Philosophy from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Addictions and Mental Health.
With over ten years of experience in mental health and addiction services, Grant works with adults experiencing trauma, substance use challenges, and co-occurring mental health conditions. He has a particular passion for supporting veterans, individuals using substances to cope with trauma, and those affected by complex trauma.
Grant’s approach is grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed care that emphasizes safety, trust, and connection. He helps clients explore their experiences openly and gain insight into why they responded or coped the way they did—without judgment. This allows clients to recognize patterns that were once protective but may now limit well-being, supporting more effective and sustainable healing.
Working from the Tri-Phasic Model, Grant draws on cognitive-behavioural, somatic, mindfulness-based, and trauma-focused therapies, tailoring treatment to each client’s needs. By fostering curiosity, understanding, and reflection, he helps clients process past experiences and develop practical tools to live more fully in the present.
Grant originally began his journey at Bear Psychology in January 2025 as a practicum student and has since joined the team professionally.
