PREETI RANE
Preeti Rane is a Registered Psychotherapist with more than 12 years of experience working with children, adolescents and families from diverse backgrounds. Her interest in working with children comes from the understanding that most adult mental health challenges often begin in childhood and by identifying and working on them earlier in life, one can prevent its adverse impact in adulthood.
Preeti specializes in supporting children and adolescents with a broad range of mental health challenges (anxiety, mood, neurodevelopmental, school difficulties, and trauma) with the aim of helping them find their way back to healthy development and live healthier and more fulfilling lives.
As a therapist, she believes in creating a safe and consistent environment for clients, where they can talk about their stressful, confusing, and traumatic life events and experiences. She recognizes and honours each client’s unique strength and skillset and collaborates with them in developing adaptive coping skills so that they can emerge with increased resilience and well-being.
While working with children, Preeti, actively collaborates with parents in supporting their child through this process as she believes that parent’s participation plays a significant role in the child’s success in therapy. With an adequate understanding of their child’s experiences and skills to encourage and nourish their growth, parents/caregivers become invaluable support for their child.
Preeti is a trained CBT and EMDR practitioner and her approach to therapy is developmentally grounded and informed by an attachment-based framework. She also integrates person-centered, strength-based approaches to adapt to the needs and goals of the client.
